It's not really got anything to do with the internet café's in terms of it being lucrative, but the difference betwee "working power" and purchasing power between china and the west.
If you go to china, you can cut your hair for about $5. Most chinese earn less money than your average westerner, but everything is cheaper in China. Imagine if that hairdresser had the ability to just go to a country where a haircut costs $20 or more, then head back to China to spend it. That's essentially what makes certain asian countries so biased into selling online gold, as it's a direct and efficient translation from chinese working power into US (or euro or whatever) purchasing power. |

Interesting and a bit sad that there is no mention about selling virtual goods being against the policies of the various games. How come Blizzard doesn't sue IGE and make and example? Too much profit down the drain if gold farmers stopped buying new accounts I suppose. Better to just keep banning accounts for them maybe.

LAN centers are often less than $0.50/hr there. I saw quite a few computers left on and running MMO bots.

I would really love to be able to go to a cafe' like those....they appear to have quite nice machines and such...to bad that isn't catching on in my area....would be great!
